You’ve decided that eloping is for you, and now you’re planning out all the details! Because eloping is such a personal and intentional decision, there can be a wide range of how much time you have before your elopement day. Some people plan their elopements a year in advance, which allows them time to order a dress from a bridal shop if that’s what they choose to do.
However, other couples decide they want to elope and plan it within a matter of a few months. (In some situations, even less time!) That can bring up the question of how to find your dream elopement dress, even when on a shorter timeframe. But no worries! We’ve done the research for you, here are our top three suggestions for finding your elopement dress on a shorter timeframe, where you don’t have to compromise on quality or style.
Check Your Local Dress Store
If you have the time, you have the option of ordering a dress from a local bridal store. Depending on the store, this process can take several months. But, if you don’t have that time – don’t worry! Most shops have an off the rack option that you can buy and take home the same day! If you need to get it altered you can often find someone local who can make those alterations for you and get it back in a timely manner.
One of our favorite options in the Great Smoky Mountains/Knoxville area is Lillian Ruth Bridal in Downtown Knoxville. They carry stunning designers like Willowby by Watters and Made With Love that sometimes are available as off the rack options. They also have sample sales so keep your eyes out for that at your local wedding dress shop as well! The team there is super sweet and will help you with whatever you need!
This is our favorite option because it supports local businesses and gets you your dream elopement dress! If you still are in need of some other options though we also love the 2 online options we’ve listed below.
Halo by Lovely
Lovely Bridal has locations all over the US but they feature sample sales and brand new dresses on their sample site called Halo where they sell off the rack options that are perfect for your adventurous elopement. There you can find ready to buy dresses from brands like Rue De Seine (heck to the yes), Leanne Marshall, Lovers Society, and more. They also list what store location they have the sample dresses at so if you’re close to one of their locations you can call them to get it put on hold and pick it up in person.
They have stores in the following locations:
New York City
This is Anthropologie’s wedding dress line so you already know it’s a goodie. I’m a huge fan of BHLDN because their dresses are absolutely gorgeous and they’re at an awesome price point. You can find some of their styles at an even better deal under their sale section! They recently released their plus-size line so they’re super size-inclusive, which we love! They also have in-person stores all over the US if you don’t want to order online.
Bonus Tip for Finding Your Elopement Dress:
Different dress styles can definitely matter when it comes to what kind of elopement day experience you’re having. You ultimately want to make sure you’re comfortable and can move in whatever dress you pick, especially if you’ve decided to have your elopement day be full of adventure and/or hiking. For instance a mermaid style dress isn’t gonna allow for full range of movement so keep this is mind when you’re thinking through what style is going to be best for you! Also since wedding dress sizing can vary make sure you’re looking at the actual measurements and comparing them to your own!
All of these places are great options, pick whichever works best for you! Be sure to place your order in enough time to allow for shipping delays, if you need to exchange for fit, or if you need to get alterations made. You wanna make sure that most important you absolutely love and feel like a baddie in whatever dress you pick so you show up to your elopement day insanely comfortable and super confident!
